Do You Own an E-Bike or E-Scooter? If Yes, You Should Read this!

If you own an Electric Bike or plan on buying one - Please read this important insurance update.

More and more people are investing in electric bicycles. Did you know that most homeowner policies have limited coverage, or no coverage at all for these types of bicycles?

This is why you need e-bike insurance.

For insurance purposes, electric bicycles are considered motorized vehicles, and thus excluded from most homeowner, condo, and renter policies. The few homeowner carriers that have limited coverage for these types of bikes, only cover for damages to the bike itself, and it is subject to your deductible.

Liability is not covered through your homeowner insurance policy. So if you are deemed liable for an accident, you will be subject to pay for the damages and injuries you caused, as well as any attorney fees and defense costs that incurred.

It's risky for your e-bike to be uninsured. We recommend purchasing a stand-alone electric bicycle insurance policy that is customized to your specific needs. This will not only protect your assets but will protect your e-bike if it is damaged or stolen.
